Vocational Coach
Part Time or Full Time
Job Coaches work with individuals with disabilities who are seeking employment. Job Coaches are responsible for assessing individuals’ current skills levels and matching them with employment opportunities in the community. Coaches assist employers with orienting and training newly hired individuals, monitoring and documenting progress, and providing direction and role modeling in positive work behaviors. Candidates must be able to work well independently and in a team environment with flexibility and ability to work in a variety of work settings.
This position requires ability to observe, identify, and assess client activities and work quality/quantity. Candidates must have basic computer skills, good communication skills, and be able to perform basic mathematical calculations. The work takes place in a variety of work settings including retail, office, industrial, and outdoors (seasonally). Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, kneel, push, pull, and lift up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications: Minimum high school diploma or GED, experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a good driving record, and be an insurable driver under OSI’s insurance carrier. Must be able to pass a background screening and drug test. Must be willing to complete a 12 week ACRE certificate in Supported Employment practices (agency paid).
Part-time, M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Full-time, M-F, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Medical insurance available for employees working at least 30 hours per week.
