Community Work Experience
Through OSI’s Community Work Program, individuals are able to choose from a variety of job opportunities within local businesses and organizations. These work experiences enable each person to develop task knowledge and skill levels while receiving support from a Job Coach. The Job Coach to employee ratio based on each individual’s need for training and supervision.
The goal of this program is to offer each individual the opportunity to be trained on a variety of tasks in order to gain competence in meeting demands of those similar to competitive employment situations. This program is designed to provide assessments to monitor readiness and motivation for competitive employment, as this is a possible outcome for individuals.
Community Work experiences include:
- Packaging & assembly
- Janitorial
- Food Service
